Battery Drain is Troubling for 2001 V70
V70 2001 Becoming Posessed, Call Ghostbusters? "Supposedly the switch in the vanity mirror went bad. It stayed on even when it was closed and eventually discharged the battery. the first few days it was hard to turn over, and then it was just dead. I have a short commute to work and the battery didn't have enough time to charge. "
Same problem as above, dead battery. Had problems with the glove box before disconnected the light, still drained batt now going for vanity lights on the visors. Also, had the dome / interior lights not work, cycled key in door now ok. If not vanity visors, Elect Control Module?, Volvo dealer?
Need to get this resolved.....

Ok, sounds simple but talked to a technician from Xemodex, and found the drivers lock assembly (which had been malfunctioning for a while) is the problem! If i locked the car with the key-fob only the lock would not shut-down and drain the batt! SO, before I swapped it out with a new one I had, I locked the car with the fob and the key in the drivers door. No problem with drained batt. Seems if the car has many modules and if not completely shut down will cause more than 12ma draw.

Battery Fine, Alterator Fine, door lock module replaced?????
Ok after all the above the car will still ACTS like a dead battery.
The battery is fine, 60% or more of charge and the ALT tested at 14.2 Volt output.
After jump starting the car it runs fine, only when you stop, lock the doors (or not), maybe 30 mins later, Try to start and the car acts like a dead BATT condition, start solinoid clicks lights on but no starter motor turn over.
I am now concidering removing the CEM, (Central Electronic Module) and having XeModex repair it.
This 2001 V70 has 265,800 miles on it.
One question for the forum, can the Volvo dealer with VALDIS tell if the CEM is bad ?
