Default BIG NEWBIE Question

Thinking of buying a V70R 1998 127000 miles. Don't know squat about Volvos but have owned Peugeots, Renaults, Mercedes, Jaguar etc etc and care for the cars myself. Is this a 200~300K car? Timing belt, easy or hard to change? Reliable if decent? Trouble areas and what should be looked at first and quickly? Parts sources, lots or Volvo only. I did own an Amazon in my youth but I don't think that'll have any bearing on these newer models. The car I'm looking at is nice looking but I am cluless about it's history and am looking for advice as far as what I might be getting into. I do have access to a well versed Volvo mechanic, but he can't check this one for me at time. Car is AWD but all V70R are right?
THANK YOU ALL

They are pretty good overall. Do some searching on here. We have discussed alot of things to look for on these cars.
For parts sources look in the general section I made a post with links to sites.

The timing belts isnt't all that hard.

Thank you Tech. Yeah, I'm a lttle scared as 127000 is about when odd-ball things fail. I've got a MB 300
d, 83 w/202 K and things shock bushings, third member brackets, idler arms etc are failing. no biggies mind you but maintenance parts that the general owner never sees. The Volvo would be the main ride for 100 mile a day commute at warp speeds so it's got to be good. I have no fear that the car would be comfortable etc and well cared for. Poking around here I don't see any glaring deficiencies, seems to be an OK car. The $1000.00 Map/Maf thing is a little fearful but the price of the car may make even this gamble worth it. Hope to decide tonight.
Thanks Much.

You must be in the UK, V70R's are pretty rare is the US. The MAP/MAF is mainly a 99 and up issue, unless you are in the UK and they put the new ones on early, but I don't think so. Good luck.
