Default Blower motor will not turn off

I have an 02 V70 which the blower motor will not turn off and kills the battery. I have to pull the fuse to stop it. Any info on what to look for is appreciated. I tried disconnecting the battery overnite but it didn't help. Pulled the plug to the blower motor and there is always 12 volts going to the motor.
Thanks,
Mike

The resistor might have shorted out keeping the blower motor on.

Where is the resistor located and how can it be checked?
Thanks,
Mike

It is hard to test it.

It is located in the blower motor assembly when you remove the blower motor.

I have the motor out now. If you can't test it what do you do buy a new motor?

Sorry to say but usually you have to test with a new resistor. When you slide the motor out of the case you will see the resistor there. Metal fins and screws into the plastic housing.

Do you have a part number to the resistor so i can buy a new one from Volvo? Can you buy them aftermarket?
