There is a cover near the wiper motor behind the engine and in front of the windshield. I think it's on the passenger side of the car. I have to admit I've never had mine out.

hmm...I saw a big box looking thing under the hood, is that it? if so, I think I need to hurry and change it. I haven't changed it since I bought the car at 75,000 miles. it now has 115,000. ouch!

thanks guys

Once you lift the cover up you should see the filter element.

It's that box at the top left of the picture. Remove the wiper arms and cowl and you're there.

How do you remove the plastic fasterners that hold the cowl down without breaking them?

They are t-25 screws. You only have to take the passenger side 3 screws out and drop the drain hose off and it will lift enough to get the filter in and out.
