Check Engine light remedies?

It just lit up today on my 1999 V70 GLC and I need to pass state emissions inspection this week - any way to easily disable/defeat this idiot light w/o visiting the dealership or mechanic?

Might be an easy fix. Can you take your car to the closest Autozone, ask them to read your codes, and then tell them to us?
