Chime sounds without key w/ door open
2001 (us) v70: When key is removed from the ignition and the drivers door is opened the doorchime sounds. All else operates normally except doors will immediately unlock when lock actuated with fob or interior lock switches. Doors will remain locked when interior lock button for each door is depressed.
My 1999 V70 does this also. I attribute it to a worn out ignition switch, but I am just guessing. The switch catches a bit just before reaching the key out position.
The problem went away for a while but has now returned. I know from experience that this will drain the battery if the car is not driven for a week or so.
Can anyone help diagnose why the car fails to sense that the key is out?

My 1999 V70 did something similar. Activated sound when I went over a bump / dip too hard several times (while driving, key in).
Seems to have gone away now.
Does anybody know where to disconnect this warning speaker in case it returns?
