code reader
Getting a copy of Vadis is the easy part. The hardware interface is what costs a couple thousand dollars. If you're just talking about an OBDII reader you can get them on Ebay for probably 30 bucks. But they won't interface with the Vadis software.
So, as i understand it, an OBD II reader will be about $100 (new) but will only read engine codes. But it will allow me to reset??
And if I want to read any and all codes and interface with VADIS it's +- $2000?
Sounds like OBD II is the way to go.
I would not know where to plug it in (be polite)
Tks

OBDII plugs in under the dash on the driver's side near the hood release. There is a little door that flips open that actually has OBDII printed on it. They're great for resetting CEL or service lights. Mine was a cheap Ebay one and I've had to use it several times for the stupid evap leak that comes up once every week or two.
Tks. Great support. I'm going outside to fine the connector then I'll buy one. I was on e-bay and there are many with good feedback.
THANKS!!
I got my first check engine light. Will NOT go to the dealer.
