Default compressor not kicking in,working.

hi first post so here go's i just bought a v70 awd and the ac was not cold so re gased.the man at garage said that the compressor was not coming on.it could be a fuse or some thing more a lose cable or something.so fully gased but no compressor.green light comes on ,on switch.has any body got any answers.even if its not what i want to hear.1998 model.thanks paul

It could be low pressure switch, which is the case on my 99 V70.
There several instruction on how to check if the low pressure switch is bad in the forum.
it costs about 50 dollars at your dealer and about $40 at thevolvopartsclub.com

You could also try checking the clutch (or the Volvo equivalent) and its wiring on the a/c compressor hub.. if that's not kicking in, your compressor will not be working even though it's gassed up.

It could also be the high pressure switch as well.
