Default Creak from rear

Hi, I have a creak from the boot (trunk) area of my V70. It seems to be when the car flexes, cornering, accelerating etc.

I have tried rear seats up/down, privacy cover off. Any thoughts appreciated as it's spoiling the enjoyment of my car.

Did you remove the security cover completely or did you just roll it up?

Mine sometimes squeak a bit at the ends (spring loaded end caps) and I just wiggle it a bit to make sure it seats properly against the side and it goes quiet again.

There sure is a lot of squeaky plastic in these cars, didn't ever think I would have this problem with a Volvo.

While I was staring at the screen I remembered something, it's not about a noise from the boot (but in that region) but I thought I would mention it anyway.

A while back the car had this screechy/squeaky noise whenever I would go over bumps and things and after quite some time looking for the culprit I eventually found that the left hand sway bar link bolt had sheered off but was kept in place by the rubber boot and every time it would "load up" it would rub the pieces together making a nice screechy noise

Check the rear sway bar end links.

Okay, car now been checked by Volvo who state not mechanical but panels creaking. They say they have some sound insulating tape they could use to try and deaden it...

Strange, mine is much older and I don't have this problem and even though the car is quite plasticy inside, the panels in the back seem to be fairly sturdy.

Ah well, lets see if their magic works
