Hey guys,
I have a 2001 Volvo v70 t5 2.3L.

I wanna say like for last couple months, i've been having this trouble.
I have no problem with unlocking the car.
But when i hit the "lock" button, the thing (i don't know what you guys call) goes up and down. Up and down. I have to try 10-15 times to lock the car.
Sometimes, driver door locks up, but the left rear door won't.
It's really pain in the butt. I mean sometimes i think i'll be cancer cuz of that.

Have you guys had such a problem ?

 

Common problem with the '98 - '00 models. The locking selinoid (motor) gets weak and stops working properly. Usually starts in the hot summer and doesn't work right until you replace the entire latch assembly. I was trying to find a replacement motor but had no success.

I don't think I wanna deal with Volvo Dealer's bull****.
They ripped me off every time i'ven been there.
I had them change my timing belt. Within 1.000 miles it broke down! Do you believe that?
And I called em up. They said bring the car up here. WTF? ITS totaly your mistake and I have to pay for towing? Unbelievable..
Anyway they changed it again but since that, i've been having trouble with the car. It's running like 6.0 diesel engine.
Even I was thinking to taking those ****ty volvo stores to the court. But no mechanic backed me up!

Long story short, im not gonna spend a "penny" in that store, i'll try to think what else i can do.

@ JRL - Thanks. Sole-N-Oid. Now I got it. That darn home schooling thing. Gets me every time.

@ YSunShine - In our S70 I had to replace the latch assembly. Read around a little and maybe you'll figure it out. I got mine from the yard.
