Dual mass flywheel question
Recently had a new clutch fitted when then brake master cylinder went. The new clutch that was fitted is so stiff that they are going to have to strip the gearbox again and fit another one. At the time they fitted the first clutch they checked settings on dual mass flywheel and said that it did nt need replaced as it was in middle of tolerances. It was 23 with a range with allowable tolerances of 14-32. I have however read recently that dual mass flywheels often only last 100k and since my car has done 102k i was wondering whether I should get it replaced as a precaution. the car is 5 years old and I do intend keeping it for some time as this is the first major issue I have had with it. It is the last of the previous model and is the special edition 2.4d sport. Comments would be appreciated on whether to change dual mass or not!!
Thanks
Thanks
Hmm, guess it's really up to you.
I've never owned a car with one so can't speak from experience but assuming the two "masses" are coupled via rubber, then it probably is on its last legs. But man, i bet they're expensive!?
I am assuming the coupling(s) is not serviceable?

Thanks for your response. Yes you bet it is expensive over £700 in UK for the part. can probaly get it a bit cheaper but not less than £600, so going to take the risk and wait for it too fail, hopefully a long time away!!!!
Thanks
Thanks
