Default Emissions test problems

Anybody,

I recently acquired a 1999 Volvo V70 wagon in excellent condition with 150,000 miles on it. Great car, but it will not pass the emissions test. The test keeps indicating a #2 O2 sensor issue. I had my mechanic replace both O2 sensors (are there more than 2?) to the tune of $500. The car still will not pass. The mechanic told me he installed "Denzo" oxygen sensors and expressly recommended that I not opt for generic or universal sensors. What gives?!? What should my next step be? I've got to get this car registered. Any advice would be appreciated.

these swede babes only like Bosch OEM plug and play sensors.

Generic or splicing universals won't do it.

Was there an OBD2 code (Pxxxx) set? If so, what was it?
