Default Exhaust system :D

Hi all,

I have a 1999 V70 T5 and im looking to upgrade my exhaust system, possibly just a sports cat and new tailpipe, may sound silly but what inch pipe is standard for my car? and is it worth getting an upgraded downpipe?

Thanks

I don't know what your pipe is stock. I am going to get 2.25" to 2.5"

As for getting a new downpipe, it will be the biggest gain in performance you will see with your exhaust upgrades. You will want a 3" downpipe for full potential. Then you will want to run 2.5" CAT-back system with a free flowing muffler like Magnaflow.

If you plan to upgrade your turbo, 3" downpipe to 3" CAT-back system with free flowing muffler like Magnaflow.

Geting a custom exhaust done on thursday, freeflowing 3" catback system for £320 (pricey?) and plan to invest in a 3" sports cat and 3" downpipe at a later date, this will probably mean an ecu upgrade too

320 pounds, how much American dollars is that?

Your best performance upgrade would be the 3" Downpipe, and the 3" CAT-back system will only help it more.

You should get a ECU upgrade to enhance the potential of the new exhaust system. However I wouldn't do that until after you get your 3" downpipe.

320.00 GBP = 564.944 USD (www.xe.com)

I am looking for a 3" downpipe and 3" sports cat at the moment

theres some by Ferrita

http://www.ferrita.se/eng/default.as...&subcat=79&id=

but they seem to be 3" in and 2.5" out ( hard to tell its still in swedish even after clickign english button )

I realise i need an ECU upgrade (or remap?) with this system done, ive looked around and the PPC stage 1 upgrades give massive bhp increase and seem to be pretty well liked

http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/...oducts_id=2376

Horsepower increase: From 240Bhp to 299Bhp - Gain 59 bhp
Torque Increase: From 355Nm to 427Nm - Gain 72Nm

Pricey but seems well worth it

May take a while, but after all this is done id expect to see 320bhp, when it gets done ill dyno it up

Yep when i took my car to get that cat back done (its nice btw) i was informed they do the 3" downpipe and sports cat, £350 for an ok sports cat and £450 for a good sports cat (difference?) downpipe included with both, ill go for the better obviously, seems too cheap the first one, looking at a BSR PPC ECU and then i think ill be happy with the power :P prob move on to suspension after this

Just out of interest when i get this full 3" system ill probably have to wait a little for me ECU, how much of an effect will it have on the car running 3" downpipe sportscat and catback without an ECU remap/upgrade ?
