Default Groaning and roaring - wheel bearing?

I have a pretty loud groaning/roaring noise coming from my front end. It gets louder as I turn the wheel to the left. The pitch doesn't really change with speed, but it is the loudest between 25 and 55 mph. It also roars quite a bit when I brake. I've diagnosed bad wheel bearings before, but it was always a whirling noise more than a roar.

Do you guys think it may be the passenger side front wheel bearing? Any possibility it would be the diff/trans?

Thanks,

That is what my V70's bad wheel bearing sounded like.
