Help me out! Back seats stuck down..
Hey guys posted this on volvospeed with no real answers other then theyre broken, there has to be a way to fix this. My back seats are stuck folded down. I guess iI can take the seatbelt lock off and put them back up right. sounds like a PITA though to have to do that all the time.. Any help would be much appricated though.
Thanks

Sounds like maybe the seat belt is jammed. Or maybe the seat got folded down to far and broke the litlle tabs on the seatbelt which will prevent the seat from folding back up b/c it jams the seatbelt. I have seen this a few times if this is the case remove the seatbelt where it bolts into the body and fold up the seat and see if you can unjam the seatbelt. good luck.
You did not state what year it was but on the 01 and up there is a hook that latches to the seat when folded down if not the seat goes down to far and jams the seat down.
The Rear seats on these wagons are the worse setup I have ever seen.
They installed the stops on the belts in the wrong places and made the lock portion poorly so when you fold the seats down they lock from coming out some. Then it locks tight when folding back up and usuall breaks the stop tab off.
The only thing I can tell you is to remove the bottom section of the belt where it bolts to the floor then fold the seat back up and reinstall the belt.
next time you fold down pull a bunch of the belt out then fold the seat down and it shouldn't happen again.
P.S. Did you ever check and see if the lights on the car you were parting out was like what I wanted?

Ok how much for the one shipped?
Let me know how it goes with the seats.
That is the common way to fix the rear seats/belt problem.
I have done a bunch of them.

I'm having the same problem in my 98 V70 where I can not get the seat back up on the Driver's side because of the seatbelt. Guess I'll try this approach to fixing.
After un-stuck by folding your seat belt inspect the seatbelt and see if the stop for the seat belt is missing. can be easily replace for a couple of bucks. (inspect by looking carefully at the seat belt strap close to the seat back trim where u pull the seat belt out) if that stop is missing the seatbelt will jam again.
