Default How to remove blower motor from Housing

Does anyone know how to remove the blower motor from the blower motor housing on a 2002 v70 2.4t? I have removed the assembly from the car but cannot get the motor out of the housing. It appears to be a press fit. Does a replacement motor include the housing? Thanks for your help.

Remove the rear plastic cover then you will remove 2 screws then it will slide out.

Thanks for your help. Worked as you described. It is not that obvious that the housing is 2 pieces, one which separates from the main. Probably would not have figured that out by myself. If anyone else needs to do the same, the motor is still tight even after removing the 2 screws, but it does come out.

Hello, My blower motor chirps loudly at the slowest speed (at 0 it's still turning a bit). As I rev it up the chirp gets more rapid. It seems to go away at top speed. The chirp might just be masked. Before I remove it I'd like to know if the bearings tend to go or if the motor's brushes wear out and chirp. Might I be lucky and get away with some silicone grease or does experience suggest otherwise. I would like to get a jump on parts if at all possible. Thanks for any information. Kira

I soaked the bottom bearing and shaft with wd 40, put some grease on the end of the shaft and reassembled. I put the assembly back in the car and have driven about 10 miles with no chirping. May have solved the problem, but I still have not put the glove box back untill I drive some more miles
