I have a 1998 V70 turbo xc awd and the engine shut down the other day while i was at a stop light. It wouldn't not start although a few times it almost seemed to catch. My mechanic says the ignition module burned out and is charging me $500 to replace it. Is this reasonable? Thanks for any info.

 

Ignition module? Is he referring to the ECU? I don't know what an ignition module is.
