Default issues with both power seats...

hi everyone - new to the board - '98 V70 AWD Turbo 178K - just purchased - timing belt replaced & water pump replaced at 156K +/-

NOW -
the drivers seat will go in reverse fine, however will not go forward unless you sort of push the switch in, basically you have to mess with it. i can move up and down as well as move the back forward and back

would this be just a bad switch?

the passenger seat hardly works at all...occasionally i can get the back piece to move forward, but its basically STUCK in the 'gangster lean' position....very annoying when new people get in the car...

also, when i turn the car off i hear a faint 'tiiiiinngg' from the seat...almost like some sort of electrical disturbance/cross? i did look under the seat for crushed wires and such, and all was well.

heating elements work on both seats.

thank for the help everyone - this is my first volvo...actually my first anything but an acura and i plan to do whatever needs to be done on it myself (within reason haha)

It might be seat switches on both seats.
The sound not sure on. Have you listened by the seat and had someone shut the car off to try to isolate the noise?

hmmmmm alright - i guess i will just have to start taking it apart ever so slowly to find the root cause of this problem...

the noise is def coming from the pass seat. im thinkin there may be some sort of minor short causing it....just thought maybe others had encountered it in the past

thanks everyone
