Default Looking at a 1998 V70, couple questions.

Hi, This is my first post. I have been lurking these forums for a while, but just decided to sign up because
I was considering purchasing a 1998 V70.
It has 110xxx miles on it, and the T-belt and clutch have just been replaced.

I know that the front control arm bushings tend to go a lot on these, the guy at the dealer said those were checked and they are OK.

I am driving from Upstate NY to Mass to look at this car, so its not exactly a short trip.
So I was wondering what else I should be on the look out for.

The asking price is $4,250.
It is black, with black leather, 5spd. Non Turbo, since to my knowledge the turbos do not come 5spd.
The guy at the dealer said it has a few scratches on it, like if someone were to key it.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Please school me!

Thanks
-Bryan

What kind of help could you be asking for?
Look at the service records and check to make sure the car still preforms when you test drive it. Push the car and see how it responsed.
Upgrade the front bushings to poly and that problem will go away. The major thing to look out for is the timing belt, and it was all taken care of.
These are great cars as long astheyare maintained properly.

I agree with all of the above.
Also I am going to seriously look into exporting V70s (or any Volvos) to the USA!
I purchased my 99 V70 just under a year ago for £650.00 (about $750.00) last time I checked the exchange rate.
Wow, you guys pay strong money for what over here in the UK is an everyday vehicle!!

Thanks for the replies.

Too bad I had to incite them in the wrong fashion.
