It's a used car, it might go 5 years no problem or blow up the first month. You can't really predict what does it need and how much.However, general maintenance it's not expensive but you have to make sure that the car has no major issues before buying it. For that car 200k is nothing if you keep up with the maintenance.

We have a non XC version (can't speak to the AWD part of it) that has over 170K and it's running very well. It's had brakes and all other standard stuff. With 110k I think you have a long way before anything major. The PCV system (the flame trap) should be serviced regularly. You might want to run the engine, open the hood and pull the dip stick up to see if any smoke out but at 110k I real doubt it. Our 98 has no crank pressure what so ever.
My 96 850 Na was purchased at 136K and ran perfectly until about 215k when it started to burn excessive oil. I was driving it 150, 75+mph, a day and putting it right to the floor regularly. Really not the way to treat a car with so many miles and years and the only thing she asked for was oil. Remarkable and this is why we own so many of them.
The only potential problem with the 98+ V70 is all the CANbus that is used for control of electrical functions.

IF you do your own maitenance and work. Parts are relatively expensive like most euros and most shops don't deal with Volvo's much, although you may be more lucky out east to find a good indy shop.
I don't think 98's are't much more complicated than the 850's. The 99-00 are a little more complicated and have the TCM issue, but other than that are really no less reliable IMO.
Take a look around here and other volvo sites for the typical repairs, especially the AWD cars. ABS module, driveshaft, viscous coupler, flame trap, and typical used car maintenance around the suspension, brakes, etc. But these cars will typically easily go 200k+ and run pretty much like new if taken care of.
