Hi,
I've been on the forum for my 240, 850, S 60 T5 and now I'm looking at a local V70. Vehicle is a 98, has 95 k, timing belt done, new brakes, new tires. Is there anything else I should be careful of? This would be the winter driver/summer kayak hauler to replace my 96 Explorer. I'm reasonably handy, can follow directions and willing try fixes. Seller mentioned, haven't seen the car yet, the check engine light on. With my S 60, it was a sensor. Also, I've had only manual trannies and what to check on an auto? Strange new world of being possibly shiftless!
Thanks for any advice.
Mike

Our 98 was rode hard and put away wet by the previous owner but it runs well. With 95K and all the new parts I'd say you can't go wrong depending on the price. Ours has problems with the switches in the doors, window lift, locks that I just don't have the time to look at but in was a mess when we bought it, kids spilling stuff, goo, fruit loops, cheerios etc. Good enough though for a teenage girl's first car.
