Default luggage cover :(

I broke the end off my luggage cover. The end cap, which is attached to the inside of the recoil part by a small pc of plastic broke off....I think it is FUBARR?

Any solutions or ideas for a remedy, short of the obvious of buying a new one?

Cheers, Terry

PVC cement can sometimes melt some types of plastic, such it is like a weld. If you are going to just buy a new one, then there isn't much to lose by trying this or something like JB weld, which may or may not work depending on the surface area of the bond. I can't clearly picture the exact problem.
