Default Moonroof lining

My '01 V70 moonroof is not rising completely up to form a tight seal on the front part of the glass. It is about 1/16 to 1/8" lower then it should. You can go inside the car and push it up, feeling there is a bit of play. The rubber lining barely touched the roof, but it seems enough to keep the water out.

My question is, is there a way to adjust the moonroof so it forms a tighter seal, will it get worse with time and is it supposed to sit flush with the roof? The back portion of it is flush and tight. The front isn't.

Thanks!

Well, mine doesn't sit flush. It's only level with the roof towards the front of the car and it is below on the back side. I can push on the glass and feel some give as well. Mine does not leak or give me any problems.

Sunroofs are desinged to leak. Thats why they have drains. But yes they can be adjusted. There is 4 screws inside under the plastic acordian looking things.

This may be a dumb question, but how do those things come off?

Open it halfway (tilt) and pull the plastic inwards. As far as I remember, there are two metal clips on either side and it just slips in and out.
