Is my computer going nuts?

I have a 2001 V70
It started off with a message stating that the indicator bulb was broken. When the message is displayed the indicator really does not work. However after a few minutes the message disappears and the indicator works again... hmmmm
Then I got a message stating that my brakes where faulty and that I should stop as soon as possible! That message goes away after a while too... and my brake performance doesn't seem to change as far as I can perceive...
Then both messages got accompanied by an "exhaust system service required" message - which btw also disappears after a while (although that one has been more resilient lately).
Can the computer actually deactivate an indicator or does it just sense it's state of health? I.e. if the computer says the buld is gone, does it stop the blinkers from blinking? It would seem strange.
Needless to say: I don't trust my computer any more. It seems to be triggered after a long drive and a short stop but I couldn't say I could reproduce the problem every time. I would love to be able to hit the reset button just to see whether the computer is just confused.... Any comments or similar experiences?

You need to have the codes pulled for the systems. The message comes on when it detects a fault and if it doesn't see the fault again in sometime it will reset the message. But will still keep fault codes in the system.Tha brake message is probably the ABS module. The Emmissions service is probably a dirty throttle body or a bad throttle body but can be about 100 diffrent things. The Bulb issuse is a bad bulb sometimes when they go bad the element breaks then when you hit a bump the elements touch and work for a little while till you hit a bump again.

Thanks for the fast resonse.
If the bulb is faulty, wouldn't you expect it show as defect most of the time and work for a bit when I hit a bump? Right now it's the other way round with my V70: most of the time it works, then out of nowhere, when I want to set the indicator (only the right one) it shows me a bulb error (and both the front and back indicators stop working I think). A few minutes later the error clears and the indicator works again.
Can that really happen with a broken element?
