Default My new used 2003 V70 is stalling !!

I'm having stall problems with a recently purchased 2003 V70 2.4 (non-turbo). I'm using mid-grade gas. I purchased it 3 weeks ago with 51,110 miles (orig mfg warrantly expired at 50,000). I had a pre-buy inspection which found no problems. I also had it checked for prior water/flooding, as the original owner was in Mobile,AL.) I had no problems for first 2.5 weeks. Then I started having random stalls while drive as slower speeds (25-40mph). I took it to my ASE-certified Volvo mechanic (not a dealership). Codes showed a problem with the fuel pump, so I had it replaced 4 days ago on a Friday($$). The next morning when trying to start it, it died the first four times after starting. Then the rest of the weekend, I had absolutely no problems. On Monday afternoon, I'm driving in Atlanta rush-hour traffic going 60 mph and all of a sudden, I have no acceleration. My dashboard lights were still on, so I'm was not stalled. There was no "check engine" light on. Pressing the accelator harder did nothing. It slowed down to 35-40 and I was able to pull into the emergency lane. Then everything went back to normal. I exited the freeway, parked the car and got a ride to my scheduled appointment, then came back later and drove home (on the backroads). I'm taking it back in tomorrow, but I don't have much confidence in those electronic diagnostics. Any suggestions. (I never had stalling problems with my previous 96 850T wagon.)

I feel your pain. I have had the same problem with my 99 V70. Was told at first it was the ETM recall. Didnt fix it. Them oh its just needs new spark plugs..nope. my fuel pump checked out ok but my fuel pressure relay was no good. The dealership said it was fixed but right before I get no same problems all over again. Has anybody seen this issue fixed. HELP!

Possible still a fuel pump.

The best way to find out for sure is to have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up and monitor it while driving.

Also one more possibility.
A Clogged Vent system will do the same thing.
But I have seen many fuel pumps act up like once a day and that is it.
Very hard to trace at times.
