Default my V70 is possessed!

2001 V70 n/a (non-turbo) 135K miles
Occasionally when I go back out in the garage, the heater-A/C blower will be running wide open. I will have to insert the key and turn the ignition to ON then back off to get it to stop. I have not wound up with a dead battery so I guess I've caught it in time every time it's done it.
Any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it?

thanks!

Does this happen after you have driven somewhere or out of the blue? It is suppose to turn on if the car has been driven within an hour. If it turns on and the car HAS NOT been driven within an hour you should have it checked. Also check you owners manual or the one on-line.

Much appreciate you taking time to respond!

Holy Moley! Just read in the owner's manual:
"Approx 50 mins after ignition is turned off, the blower may come on automatically and run for 5 mins to remove condensation in the A/C evaporator."
I would have never guessed! I'm having so many weird problems with the friggin' car, I just assumed it was one more to add to the list.

Again, thanks for the info. Now back to fault codes, tranny slamming in and out of gear when stopped at traffic lights and dome lights staying on some times ................................
