Hello I am a newbie to the board so apologies if this has been posted in the wrong section. I am actually here on behalf of my father who has a Volvo V70, over the past few days there has periodically been a noise coming from the gearbox area which happens on and off when accelerating. It sounds kind of like a vibration of plastic when caught by the wind. I have actually recorded this while driving in the hope that someone may know what the problem is! If anyone can help suggest what this may be (hopefully not a gearbox replacement) it would be greatly appreciated before I take it to a mechanic.
