Exclamation OEM Volvo Wheel Lock Lug Trouble

Does anyone know a way to remove Volvo Wheel locks from a wheel. I ruined My lock key because it slipped while under torque and broke another key at the dealer, it wasn't a new or perfect key in either case.

I think I may have put them on too tight last tight last time i had em off, there is anti-sieze on them too

I heard that Snap-On may sell a tool that grips these for removal?? anyone ever hear of that

Car is a 2004 V70R wheels are the 17" pegs

any tips would be appreciated

Thanks
Mike

Did you check and see if the Dealer can order another one?
I think the key has a number on it that they can use to order another one.

they possibly can, I'll look in to it or possibly go to another there's about a dozen dealers not too far away

i think that's its on too tight or partially siezed and the amount or torque required to remove it breaks at the weakest spot, the key

Harbor Freight has a tool to remove the lugs, but I don't know if it will fit up into the wheel. I guess you could buy one and try it or measure first.

But the problem is on the P2 cars the locks have a washer around the outside of the lug.if you hammer that on it will only spin the washer and not get the lug loose. That's why I suggested the Dealer for another key.

I'm pretty sure mine are solid and don't have the spinny outer piece

Same problem with mine, ended up my local bodyshop welding a nut onto the head and slowly working them out that way, hen replaced them with a more solid aftermarket version, the volvo ones are weak.

What is this place like Is it mainly just cheap crappy chinese made tools and such or do they have good stuff there? There's a Harbour Freight store not to far from me just outside Buffalo NY so I may take a run thee someday to check it out

It's mostly Chinese made stuff, but the quality is not too bad. They also have some name brand stuff, like Ingersoll Rand and Chicago Pneumatic, but the prices aren't that much cheaper than what you would pay elsewhere.

Some of the tools there are decent. I have been using Harbor Freight tools for many years.

I have tools from them I have been using for 15 years already.(Same sockets and they did not break)
