My 1999 V70 GLT has 120K miles on it and I replaced the turbo oil return gasket and seal about 8 months ago. That worked great, but there is still a drip of oil on the turbo when looking at the bottom from underneath the car. I now am seeing quite a bit of oil on the air dam right below the intercooler. I have always had a tiny bit of oil form the weep hole in the intercooler, but it just started getting worse and is now dripping onto the ground. While I was looking I also noticed oil on the hose feeding the throttle body. Is there a seal in the turbo that is going bad? I thought it might be the PCV system also, but the only oil leaks are on the output side of the turbo. I did the dipstick check and there are no fumes when car is running Car runs good and no evidence of burning oil - plugs look good and exhaust is not smoky. Thanks in advance.

I am going to check the oil level and see if my wife had put any in and it's over filled. I do my own oil changes and I put a line on the dipstick where the oil should be when full. The mark is actually in the middle of the hash marks so she could have thought it was low and added some. I think that it's that way because the old dipstick broke and the new one may not fit the same. If that's not it, in the spring I am going to do the PCV cleaning that I have read about. As the car has a little over 120K it could be due. Good luck on your leak and let me know what you find out and I will do the same.

Well I solved my problem, and it blew my mind what it ended up being. After taking it to the Volvo dealer and being diagnosed with a leaking "Rear Main Seal" "Cam Seal" and needing a "Timing Belt at 105,000", for a total of $3,300, I took it to a different specialty shop, who diagnosed a leaky oil cap!! I had noticed it was leaking, but it didn't look like the main source of the leak, as it was all over the Turbo and Intercooler line. Well I got a new cap and seal and it hasn't leaked a drop since. Guess it runs over the engine with airflow, or channels over it somehow to end up right on the Turbo. It's a cheap fix, you may look into it.
