Hello All:

I have finally determined that the orifice tube in my ac system is what has been making an awful sqealing noise. On startup, compressor on, it squeals as it builds pressure. After turning the ac or engine off, it squeals again as pressure is equalized.

Question is, does anyone know what the OEM Volvo orifice tube is? Everyone is selling either one for 3 or 4 bucks, or one with an auto adjustment (whatever that is) for 25 or so bucks. Does original Volvo offer auto adjust?

Also, is this a DIY job, or does the system have to be repressurized after replacement?

It has to be discharged to get to it and recharged after.

You only need the little Needle looking thing with the screen in it.
Almost like an older GM style if you know what they look like.
