Default Pass. Side Door Electrical Problems!

Hey guys,

I just bought this 2001 V70 2.4T today. As I was driving it home, I noticed that in the cluster, the message area says "PASS SIDE DOOR OPEN." I checked all the doors and made sure they were closed properly. Then, I realized that my front, passenger side door is getting no power....or at least that's what I think it is...

-The sideview mirror doesn't move
-Window won't go up or down
-Power lock doesn't work
-The message indicator is (i think) because the door sensor isn't indicating that the door is closed because it has no power.
-My center lights (near the sunroof) stay on until i turn them off because the car thinks the door is open

Is there anywhere I should check? Is this a common or common-ish problem with these cars? Any ideas?

I tried to get the door panel off but had to stop because I didn't want to break anything. I got all of the clips off but couldn't get the panel out. I think the door handle is keeping it there....

Any imput is welcome. I will put up pics of it as soon as possible.

If you haven't done this already I'd check the door wiring harness connector, which is on the outside and you can get to it by pulling back the boot and the wires that flex between the door and the car. All the functions you mentioned not working are controlled by the door module (window/lock switch) so the module may be bad or it's not getting power like you mentioned. To get the door panel off you have to pry off the cover on the door grab handle and there are a couple torx screws to remove.

UPDATE:

I took the door panel apart, and took out the door switches and the module they are mounted to. When i took apart the module, i found an area where it was slightly burned, or so it looked. Could this be my problem? I found another part on ebay and could replace it myself, but what if there is something else causing the problem? Could there be a relay or something that caused it to burn? or is it just a freak short circuited module?

Also, i connected a wire to a ground and touched the little soldered burned spot with it and the window worked (sort of). So im pretty sure the mudleu itself is bad, but im not sure what else could be causing that to have gone bad..
