Default A positive thread

As a new owner I'm a bit tired of reading about one problem after another, I'm also starting to feel I might have made a big mistake. Lets talk about what you love about your V70 and your positive reliability stories.

Well this is more like a Maintenance forum so it will have a bucnhes of problems listed.
I have a 07 V70 R and it is avery nice car. She already has 23,000 miles and not oneProblems as of now.Right from the dealer this car preforms like a Mother******.
I can't wait to put better springs and swaybars on her, and new Turbo-back exhaust and ECU.
It would be awsome if some made a coilover setup for this car, like the other models.
VOLVO FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As TIPSP noted, this is more a repair forum, so for every bad post there might be 100's of folks readingnow andhad good experiences, that never post. I have an 01 V70 T5A and all I've needed to date is to have the ABS system rebuilt by Victor back at 75 K miles. Currently she has 90K miles and some change, but love the forums as I've learned to do all the maintenaince required. Recently did the 90K, but did waaaaaay more including flushing the cooling system, all filters, the timing belt, sepentine belt, flush brakes, flush power steering and fuel filter. I flushed the transmission at 75K miles, all due to the great folks here and at the brickyard.

Yes, I do really love my car! Hauls a@@, and gets me 27MPG going back and forth to work (a 50/50) type commute, and my last trip to Tahoe got 30MPG! Like you I do worry about the Electronic throttle for my model year, but Volvo recently bumped the warrenty to 10 years or 200K. What year and model do you have; I didn't see you mention it? I'd also highly recommend running synthetic oil, as there also appers to be some issues with the PVC system that's some claim to be greatly reduced by using synthetic. My previous Volvo was a P1800ES that had 375,000 miles on it when I crashed it [X(]. Wasn't my fault, but I had figured I'd drive that car FOREVER!!! Hah, the simplier days of simple fuel injection and points ignition that anyone could work on. Take good care of the car, and she'll take good care of you and family!

2001 T5 manual...I hear the sticks are rare? Anyways my DD is a Jeep, which I love, but I've always liked Volvos and this one hauls ***. It's a good second or so quicker to 60 than my Jeep, too.

That's what I'm talking about, I do realize people gravitate to the forums with problems and are looking for help, I just like hearing the other side as well.
My wife and I bought a 1998 V70 t5 for less that 6K last Sunday, a bit of an impulse buy after a day long search for a family wagon (primarily for a mid-90's Toyota or Honda wagon, but the 850's and 98 V90's were also on our list) Well, one drive in the V70, and we were hooked, the seats, the power, the visibility, the overall feel, absolutely love the car. It is a joy to drive, almost as fast as my G35, even more comfortable seats. I think I'm getting hooked after watching the IPD video on the 1998 V70 stage III upgrade. I also have fond memories of my 1971 164E and 91 240Dl wagon (RIP) that were nothing but fantastic in all areas. And I can remember taking European delivery with my dad of a 1980 240DL in Sweden, I don't think he change the oil for the first 50K, but it still drove to over 275K before it died.

I bought my '01 V70 in June with 67k. I have 75k on mine, did my first timing belt job this past weekend with the help of the forum, and did some other things. The car runs like new now, handles incredibly well for a wagon, and it's the fastest 167 HP I've ever had, now probably a little more then that.

This is my 11th car in my lifetime. It's definitely my favorite. My other car is a 5-speed Hummer H3 that has pretty much sat collecting dust since I bought this car. Once I'm done with the cosmetic upgrades I will post pics (should be soon) but overall, I love it.

It's very easy to work on, the parts are widely available and there are plenty of upgrades you can do to it.
