Default Propeller Shaft problems

I have a '98 V70 XC and I have replaced the prop shaft 4 times!!!!!!! I get told by the dealer that the rubber boot gets ripped by "road debris" but 4 times???????
Has anybody else esperenced this problem?

The 2nd shaft only lasted 6 months!!!

I have 172K on it and other than the prop shaft, I enjoy the car.

HELP

Gary

When I take it to the dealer, I tell them that I notice a viabration at speed and a gear oil smell.

I put 40-45k on it in a year for work, so I notice when a new noise, or viabration appears.

I feel it in the seat and thru the accelerator petal. I know its not tyres or wheel related as I just had new skins put on/balanced and an alignment done. Like I said, this is the 4th one that is getting changed.

Drive SHAFT update. I had a new one installed at the dealer in mid
April, here it is 26th May and I just had that one replaced, it lasted 35 days!!!!! and the
dealer CANNOT give me an answer to WHY?????

I picked up the car on Wednesday night and drove it home, took it to work yesterday
and guess what? Something is still not right in the drive train.

I had the tires balanced just for ****s and giggles to elminate the possibility of an out of balance
condition and they were OK. NOW BACK TO THE DEALER with the car.

I there,

I had the same problem with my Volvo V70 98 AWD (Humming sound that I could feel trought my seat but not my wheel and it occured only between 32mph and 37 mph) and the volvo dealer told me it was the prop-shaft bearing... I haven't got the time to go take a look and with all the snow...

Perhaps, does anyone know if it's possible to getthat kind of bearingeasely?
