Default Psi?

Hello all.

I've just bought a 1999 AWD turbo V70. I installed a boost gauge and I get 5 psi. Is that about right? It's got 180,00 miles on it. I've put IPD Short Ram, IPD HD control valve, and this Sunpro boost gauge. Any suggestions?

Ha, lol this is exactly what mine does. Mine is a 1998 V70R I installed the same boost gauge mine boost to about 7-8psi then jumps to 10psi at around 4500rpms and spikes to 15psi between shifts. I have the original Boost controller but have IPD's one on order as well as plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I hope this is not how it is suppossed to act because mine is SLOW!!

Kind of disappointed your IPD one did not fix the problem. Not sure this boost characterstic is normal but maybe someone can chime in. Have you checked your hoses for any tears, holes, or bad connections? I have a little less miles than you (172,700) but my hoses are kind of spongy so they could be swelling and your motor is not seeing all the boost. Just a thought.
