Default Question On Check Engine Light Used 2001 V70

Hello...Love this board been reading up on some little issues here and there...just purchased a 2001 Volvo V70....looks and runs like new...has 100,000 on it.....Just today the Check Engine light went on....I am not the most mechanical guy but does it automatically mean something major if a Check Engine Light goes on in a Volvo? Seems to be running fine but like I said came on out of nowhere.....Any suggestions, should I get code read at an Auto Zone or directly at a dealer...?

buy yourself a good code reader and go from there. You'll need a reader more than once and pays itself rather quickly.

A CEL can mean nothing or something major, thus the code reader
