hey guys!

i know there's a substantial price diff from thule's rack system than volvo's rack system (almost 1/2 price of thule)

so my question is what do you guys have? Anybody have opinions?

Thule is a generic rack system - if Volvo's is designed to match the v70 and looks much better, then maybe it is worth it. From the website, it looks pretty generic to me... [:-]

 

I got the genuine volvo eurorails and crossbars. The Eurorail are the ones that run from front to back of the car which includes all the molding from the the windshield to the back of the vehicle. Then I use Thule kayak carriers. I bought my eurorails at a junk yard and had them sent to me. Very easy to install and they are made for the car just by replacing the molding with roof rails.I bought mine at S&J Auto parts (1-800-456-8144) for $250 three years ago. Bought brand new crossbars for $100at Volvo Parts World 1-800-323-6805.

If all that fails try Erie Volvo and see if they have any 1-888-865-8613 or Volvo and Saab dismantlers at 1-800-700-8658.

Can't believe I had all that information in my notes from three years ago.
