2002 v70xc - the radiator fan seemed to be defective when it would not shut off after turning off car. Fan would run at full speed until battery drained. Based in forums, got replacement on amazon and installed.

however, new fan won’t turn on at all. Power and switch fit properly but fan won’t turn on at all. Tested rehooking old fan and it spins at full speed (power only), without even plugging in the switch.

Any thoughts on what the issue might be, defective new fan or ? Additionally I seemed to have caused a coolant leak from the upper coolant hose while pushing it around during installation. I presume I should just unclamped and replace with new one? Thanks in advance for any insights.

Spliced the old switch to the new fan. Voila, the fan works fine. New harness/ switch fitted smoothly but never “buckled” in like the original.
