Default Radiator replacement

Hello all.
I think i bit off more than I bargained for. My V70XC has 254K miles and the radiator started to leak. I picked up one at IPD (quick responce and shipping) anyway, I started to remove the front end of the car to get at the radiator to remove. First mistake.
After removing most of the grill, I find out that I cannot either pull it up and out or drop it down. So to cut to the chase, has any body else replaced their radiator or at least tried to? I want to stay away from the dealer $$$$$$$$$$$$
Any input is more that welcome at this time.....

Volvo for Life,, but not my life savings.......

Default Radiator Replaced

Well it's done. I took some time to look thru some posts and found a good reference to the radiator on VOLVOSPEED.COM. Bay 13.

Thanks for all the feedback...

I was just curious as I've seen posts where they've done it from the top and say it's easier.

I have to do mine soon.

If that was the first radiator replacement on it, congrats! I'd believed none of them made it that far, 245k miles. Mine cracked out at around 175k.

I would doubt it's the original but it's possible. I have a bleed from engine oil to coolant. I'm living on borrowed time as I know it's leaking, I have a radiator and I just can't make the time to drop it in. If it opens up and gets into the oil pan I'm going to be screwed. I put my sport springs in yesterday so I guess this weekend maybe ??
I've never been a fan of the plastic aluminum crimped radiators but the Mfg's aren't going to change. They are too easy and cheap to make.
