Default Removeable fender molding and insert fasteners?

I'm looking for some removeable/reusable fasteners for the plastic fender insert and bumper fascia/rocker/mudflap. I have had to pull the insert out for engine work twice on my '98 V70. Last time I got the aluminum/plastic Volvo "rivets" but they suck and you have to drill them out to take the plastic apart again.

Anybody got a generic solution?? I am looking at sites like:

http://www.autobodysupplies.com/GMan...ipsPageOne.htm

And can probably find something there, but was wondering if someone already solved this problem....

TIA

JH

Default You're there

Hello, I didn't go to the website you gave but that's the kind of place you need if they have a selection. Having them in your hand to test fit is best. The body shop supply house near me has them all mounted on a piece of plywood. There are several styles of "central pin with splaying fingers" fasteners out there. Neatest little things they ever invented. The plastic rocker skirts on my V70 use them. I'm not sure they can be used in the fender wells, as opposed to the pop rivets, because they require a larger hole. I wouldn't widen a hole in sheet metal just to accept a slightly more convenient fastener. Kira
