Replaced slit wire loom top of engine
After changing plugs and then having to change a bad coil at a later date I found a wire I had pinched between the cover and engine so I “re-loomed” the ignition and fuel injection wires. All the previous wire loom had deteriorated into small pieces from engine heat so there wasn’t much left on the wires. I bought the higher temp flame retardant wire loom which is rated to 275F instead of 200F for the standard stuff. We’ll see how this higher rated stuff holds up. I now know you can identify flame retardant slit wire loom by a blue strip running lengthwise and there is also other high temp nylon wire loom with a grey strip and rated at 300F. The flame retardant stuff is supposed to be more flexible so I selected it but the stuff is hard to find in short lengths. I used mostly 3/8” and some 1/2” for the higher wire count ends, ¼” would have been nice for some spots but I didn’t get any of the ¼” loom.

Here's where I ordered the corrugated wire loom. You'll see the minimum length you can order is 25ft so you'll have a lot left over if you only do the top wires. There are probably other sources where you can get shorter lengths.
I used 3/8" (~10ft) and very little of the 1/2" loom.
