Default Replacing original Tape player with CD from another V70

Hi there,
Just wondering if anbody has experienced this problem before and has any tips on what i should do.
I have a 98 V70 with original tape player - it works fine
I have a 3 CD changer with tape (in head unit) that is also from a 98 V70 (a friend who totalled his car gave me). The problem is when i switch the players and input the security code, i have no sound, althought the player looks like it's working properly.
My car only has the two Black rectangular plugs and the antena where the other came from a higher spec car but surely this should not make a difference?
Anyone with any ideas? Much appreciated
Kind regards,
Alan

I believe that radio works only off an amp.

Cheers Tech. Think I have to take it to a garage to sort it out. Thanks for your advise.
