Hello. I just bought a 1998 v70 xc. I got it cheap because the stock turbo charger is dead. However, the rest of the car seems in great operating condition. I need to know what is the stock turbo? Also,, What is a suitable upgrade that bolts on without any adapters?


I did use the search function,, and found surprisingly nothing! Surely this topic is old and well discussed.

Hi : suggestion - you can try to buy replacement parts kit for the Turbo you have in the car - almost definitely a Mitsubishi TD-05 Turbo- rebuild kits are available on line as well as @ www.united turbo.com ph. 800 779 1780 (that's where I got ours) we used a turbo housing from a junkyard to re-assemble about halfway - and then installed on our '98 xc70 - does help clear out carbon from engine(it's worth the trouble & expense)
