Default Resetting the car computer system

Now replaced coil and shifting attention now to the high use of fuel and dodgey emissions from the car .
Have decided to replace the two lambda sensors in the hope that this will remedy the problem . Does anyone know how to reset the cars computer system once the sensors are in place.? Dont want to go to a volvo dealer and pay the £25-30 for them to flick a switch ....if i can do it myself .

i have heard that taking the battery cable off for several hours (maybe even 24h) will do the "resetting". not sure though.
