Default resetting the service light

it should be there. It might be covered by a rubber grommet

Yah. There should be a rubber grommet on the instrument cluster plastic cover. You should be able to push it with a small star screwdriver or similar sized pin while sitting normally in the driver's seat. If not, you've got the under the dash switch which I've heard about depending on your model. Good luck.

i know that on my model (91 240), the light goes out after so many miles. I was told when i got the car that the light was simply for reference that it would be wise to check ur car but that it did not mean nething was wrong. if you cant find the reset, just let it go out by itself

On the 240, I think it is directly behind the kick panel and accessible by removing the cover above your knees. On the 7XX series it is on the speedo under the grommet. It comes on every 7500 miles to tell you to change your oil and check your car over. The light will not go out unless you reset it.</P>
