Default SERVICE LIGHT

I KNOW I READ SOMEWHERE IN THIS FORUM HOW TO TURN OFF SERVICE LIGHT. CAN SOMEONE REMIND ME? TURN KEY TO POSITION #1, PRESS TRIP ODOMETER FOR 5 SECONDS ( I GET A CODE 26 READING WHEN I DO THIS) THEN TURN KEY TO POSITION #2? THEN WHAT, SERVICE LIGHT DOESN'T GO OUT.

Default RE: SERVICE LIGHT

I've never had this problem (haven't had the car long enough maybe?), but I have seen it discussed frequently with varying solutions.

Here's one you can try though: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/reset.php

Default RE: SERVICE LIGHT

That one covers it with theadded instruction: Release the reset button within 4 seconds of the service light/message being reset then wait for an audible signal that indicates when the reset is complete before switching off the ignition. If the reset button is not released within 4 seconds the system will not be reset.
