Side Marker Modification

Side Marker Modification
My '98 has the "Volvo" badge where the sidemarkers go. Problem is that under the badge, the paint is slightly lighter, so I don't want to use the standard Volvo bulbs/housings which are smaller than the badge and show the paint phases.
Some of the BMW sides are larger and look like they might cover the entire area. Some of them have mounting brackets and/or the rear of the bulb housing is larger, etc., so there may be some modification of the plastic housing. I'm sure the wiring harness would also be different. My skills are pretty limited, but I'd like to get some side markers going if I possibly could. An example of what I'm looking at is below. Long shot, but maybe someone has dealt with this issue before.

The little touches that no one notices at first are sometimes the coolest modifications. In this case a customer wanted the blinking side-marker lights off of the new 370z on his 350z.
Okay, no problem. Well one problem. The stock 350 “Z” non-flashing side emblems only use two small clips to locate the plastic part. The new 370z flashing marker has cylindrical extrusion that is about 1.5 inches tall with a 1.5 inch diameter that needs to go through the fender and be wired to work properly. We used a small hand saw to make the cut and everything turned out perfect. The electrical connections simply required us to source which wire was the running light and which was the blinker and then the simple wiring changes were made. All connections are a quick release style so that the new bulbs can be serviced when the time comes.

This might sound odd, but hear me out. There is no greater source of variety in various side marker lights I've seen than in an aftermarket Harley Davidson catalog. They come in all shapes and sizes, and are 12 volt. The "official" Harley parts catalog isn't as extensive as those put out my aftermarket companies. They are often sitting on the parts counter at HD dealerships. Worth a glance. And no, they don't all have skulls and flames on them. Some are "art deco", some are polished, some are chrome.
Its been a few years since I sold my HD, so I don't recall the names of the catalog companies off hand. Sorry.
