Default Snowflake light

Hi I’m a newbie in this forum. Hopefully someone could help me with my question. Thanks in advance.
Why snowflake light wasn’t on in -26C after I had the check engine and service lights cleared?
It’s a V70 AWD Turbo 1998 Automatic

do you still have your outside air temp sensor working? Do you really need a light to tell you its cold when its -26C (-15F)

Normally it is set by the air temp sensor to come on when the outside air is about +2 or 3C - I am wondering if it goes off when the temp drops below a cold threshold. I vaguely recall my 850 light going off when it was super cold out one time.

Yes, my outside air temp sensor still works.
Hahaha not really since the light used to come on,
so it’s good to see it there 😊
I didn’t know if it only came on in between cold threshold. Thank you so much for letting me know 🙏

It's there to alert the driver to the possibility of ice patches on the road not to tell you it's cold outside.
It was my favorite feature in my '99 V70 as it had its own hole in the instrument panel.
