Default Speedometer and Oddometer Quit

On my 98 V70 GLT the speedometer and oddometer will quit intermittendly then come back on again. Read that it could be a sensor on the tranny. What sensor would that be and is it a diy job?

I would say ABS module before a sensor.

I agree with Tech that its the ABS. I just removed mine for repair and in doing so the speedometer and odometer immediately stopped working. That tells me that the circuit routing is through this device. Most likely a connector pin with a bad solder joint. My personal opinion, is that DIY on module solder repair is risky. I opted to pay Module Master $150 (including new mounting screws), to assure it gets done right. Hope this helps.
