Starter Relay
This morning I tried to start my Volvo V70 (2002) and all I got was a Clicking noise from the front fuse box, I am assuming that the starter relay is U/S. Can anyone help me locate the said relay? I live in Spain and the nearest Volvo dealer is 145klms away, so if there are any suggestions that will get me up and running I would be very greatful for your help. Thank you. David.
Hi Ed, Thank you for your reply, I have now got my Volvo working and as you said it was a flat battery that was the cause. Once the car was running I took it for a spin to get a charge into it, only to find that the rear brake lights stayed on, I flicked the brake peddle a couple of times which turned the lights off. So (you gussed it) how do I sort this fault out? I am a non engineer where cars are involved, but I do love this one. Thank you. David.
I haven't had my head under there yet, but my 745's had two switches: one for brake and another for cruise and each had some give and take in the mounting.
There's got to be some slack to make an adjustment, either jam nut or mount slop or maybe you've worn out some part of the master cylinder which is less than likely.
Ed
