I've been trying to get my wife's 1998V70 repaired and it has been running fine after a new cam sensor and then a wire to the cams sensor which was shorting out badly. That was two months ago, but now it will start and then quit after a few seconds. I had it towed and it wouldn't act up for the mechanic, then after a few days, it stalled a few times, finally ran, then quit 3-4 times at 30 mph but restared then stalled. Ran the rest of the day, now starts , runs smothly for a couple of seconds, then stalls, tried many many times. Have added dry gas then two bottles of isoprople. One mechanic thinks its ice or moisture, lot of weather changes lately, above freezing to below, here in central ny. It had a complete tune up also, about 3 weeks ago. It does sometime run a little longer if I do not touch gas pedal, quits immediately if I do try to give it gas though the guy with the tow truck did get it to start once buy reving it, which I understand is not supposed to be done.

 

I would inspect/replace the fuel pump relay.
